EXPRESSION OF INTEREST – Agency Banking (“BDB Zhabtog”)

Bhutan Development Bank (BDB) is pleased to invite interested individuals/firms/entities across Bhutan to partner with the bank to enroll for Agency Banking – “BDB Zhabtog”.  Agency banking is aimed at enhancing financial inclusion, create employment opportunities, enhance outreach, and optimize digital banking for convenience and efficiency. Thus, aspiring individuals meeting the following eligibility criteria are requested to apply:

1. Eligibility criteria
2. Attained minimum age of 18 years
3. Hold a valid citizenship ID card in case of an individual or valid business license in case of a business entity
4. Obtain valid security clearance and not be declared bankrupt
5. Should be residency of the area
6. Individual must have clean credit history (CIB Report) in the last one year preceding the signing of the contract and status maintained during the contract period
7. Must hold/open a deposit and CD account
8. Literate (ability to read and write)
9. Meet suitability in terms of infrastructure and other facilities to operate business
10. Submit a copy of audited financial statement submitted to the tax authority, if
11. Benefit: Approved agent will be paid attractive commission based on the transactions
