Correspondent Banks

Like any other banks in Bhutan, Bhutan Development Bank also maintains correspondent banking relationships with domestic banks and other international banks. Currently, BDB has networks with all domestic financial institutions being used for domestic banking transactions.

SWIFT stands for the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication, which provides a network that enables financial institutions to send and receive information in a standard and secured environment globally. It is a network that makes very quick and secure money transfer. It helps in receiving messages in a standardized and secured environment.

SWIFT Code is a standard format Bank identifier code (BIC) which is an internationally recognized identification code for banks around the globe. SWIFT codes are most commonly used for internationally wire transfers used to transmit messages.
